Doesn't look like much but it was
March 16, 2010We all thought that when our legisltion was passed in 2006 that hospital specific reporting was required. Suddenly, right before Christmas, despite two lawyers agreeing with our reading of the law, members of the committee were having very serious second thoughts. Last week, we reached a concensus and voted on the following resolution. “The HAI Committee supports transparency in hospital CLABSI rates, including facility-specific reporting. The Committee shall develop the content and methods of reporting rates, appropriate accompanying consumer educational material, and the format of the reports, and that the voting members of the Committee shall approve the recommendations prior to submitting them, with all deliberate speed, but no later than August 31, 2010, to the Department of Public Health in accordance with Section 19a-490n of the General Statues.”
