Press conference March 1, 2010

At 11 am we kick off a public health hearing with a press conference with the Attorney General.  We are offering simple solutions to complex problems.

Restricting pharmaceutical gifts to healthcare providers and requiring disclosure of all payments over $1,000 is good for the health care consumer.  We have had to concede the “free lunch”  We all know there really isn’t such a thing but our legislators are worried about job security in our state.

We are also trying to legislate hospital specific reporting of adverse events.  Another consumer friendly measure.

It would be great to see common sense, transparency and accountability trumping special interests.  We will know by May
