State Approves Double-Digit Insurance Rate Hikes

What is going on here? The Office of Legislative Research found that the state regulators have approved rate increase requests in 22 cases out of 26 since 2006. I guess we are supposed to think that the regulators were really on top of things when they turned down Anthem Health Plans – allowing just a 15.78 percent increase instead of the 23.5 percent that was requested.

I have an individual policy from Anthem. Mine went from $726.03 to $858.11. I am outraged that there once again seems to be regulatory failure.
